District 14, Position 1

WilliamChichenoff

A campaign rooted in service, recovery, craftsmanship, and common-sense action for safer, healthier communities across Washington's 14th Legislative District.

  • Public safety rooted in intervention
  • Recovery, housing, and stabilization
  • Accountable local government
Running for State Representative in District 14, Position 1.

Urgent conditions call for steady, practical leadership.

Will believes District 14 needs a representative who understands the conditions families are facing and is willing to work directly on solutions.

Communities across District 14 are dealing with overlapping emergencies: violent crime, fentanyl addiction, untreated mental health needs, housing instability, youth vulnerability to gang recruitment, and the lasting trauma carried by families who have lost loved ones.

For Will Chichenoff, these are not abstract policy debates. He has seen the cost of violence, domestic abuse, overdose, and community disconnection in the lives of people close to him. His campaign is built around direct intervention, accountable government, and daily habits that help people heal.

A living example of healing, service, and common sense.

Service in Action

Through his self-funded nonprofit, Help Me Heal, Will has used mentorship, cultural practice, and traditional drumming to reach young people and interrupt violence under the message "Drums, Not Guns."

Work Across the District

As a carpenter, subcontractor, and owner of Willside Siding and Windows LLP, Will has worked on homes and businesses from Othello to Pasco and from Sunnyside to Bingen.

Mentorship and Recovery

A wrestling coach in Toppenish, Wapato, and Yakima, a DOC Red Badge volunteer, and a member in recovery, Will helps people build discipline, structure, and a path forward.

Family and Heritage

Will is a father, father-in-law, and grandfather. His Japanese roots, Native American traditions, faith, and community service shape the way he listens and leads.

Common-sense priorities for a safer, healthier district.

Will is focused on practical steps that address root causes, protect families, and make government more responsive to the people it serves.

Stabilization and Housing

Support secure housing and stabilization options that treat addiction, mental health crisis, and trauma as urgent public safety issues.

Effective Intervention

Advance early intervention, including 72-hour evaluations after violent incidents, so cycles of trauma and retaliation can be interrupted.

Healthy Food Access

Work with local market owners to expand healthy options and explore legislation allowing hot, healthy foods through EBT in locally owned stores.

Water and Energy Stewardship

Promote solar on publicly owned buildings, drought-year conservation, drip irrigation grants for farmers, and covering high-evaporation canal zones.

Leadership grounded in physical, mental, and spiritual resilience.

Will sees daily discipline as a coping skill for modern pressure and a model for community restoration.

  1. 1 Physical strength. Will stays active through the YMCA, his local gym, and community Zumba groups, building the stamina required for public service.
  2. 2 Spiritual foundation. His faith, Sunday service, and participation in church choir and Spanish choir keep his work rooted in humility and purpose.
  3. 3 Cultural healing. As a Native American and Aztec dancer, Will leads sweat lodges and free weekly dance sessions at Franklin Park to help people reconnect with heritage and healing.

Already showing up for the work.

Will regularly attends City Council and County Commissioner meetings and brings forward concrete proposals on safety, health, water, energy, and government accountability.

  • No-donation campaign. Will takes no campaign donations. He is running to serve the district, not donors.
  • Public spaces and public costs. He supports reducing campaign sign clutter and treating political signs as an avoidable hazard and source of litter.
  • Children's health. Will wants state policy to respond to the dental and health problems affecting District 14 children, including the role of poor food access.
  • Community partnerships. He has been in conversation with Sikh and Punjabi community members about local mini-markets that provide healthier food options.

Living the solutions every day.

"Whether I am in the gym, leading a drum circle, singing in church, or working on a job site, I am practicing the habits of health our district needs."
